Writing a successful personal statement is a crucial part of applying to graduate school.This essay is an opportunity to present yourself to admissions personnel as a you would like to be seen--as a highly qualified, "must have" candidate.

HOW CAN LARC HELP YOU?

WEEKLY WORKSHOPS (Thursdays at 4pm, SST 484) where you can ask questions and learn basic goals and strategies for writing your essay. Workshops are a good way to get oriented and write better drafts right from the start.Contact James Culhane, 824-6672, jculhane@uci.edu, for information.

INTERVIEW WORKSHOPS
This workshop will provide practice for students preparing for medical, dental, pharmacy, and optometry school interviews. Participants will learn to respond effectively to actual interview questions through discussion, practice, and feedback. Topics include controversial and ethical issues, non-verbal communication,and effective oral communication. Students may also choose to participate in a mock interview. Workshops will be held from 1:00-1:50 during weeks 6 through 10.

Videotaping will take place during weeks 9 and 10.
