Writing 39C serves as an introduction to argument and research and is designed
to help you engage in democratic debate and policy-making. LARC can assist you
with conducting and critically evaluating academic research, structuring an
academic argument, and writing the historical analysis and advocacy essays
required for this class. Workshops will follow the 39C assignments for both
Pollan's Botany of Desire and Speigelman's In the Shadow of No
Towers.
