This site provides annotated examples of A, B, and C summaries along with suggestions for improvement and rewritten versions of the B and C examples.

A Examples

The examples are assessed with regard to the grading criteria listed on page 73 of the Experimental Biology Laboratory Manual, fifth edition. These criteria are 1) completeness and conciseness, 2) a clear understanding of the original and its implications, 3) coherent organization and focus, and 4) clear, precise language. The obligation to avoid copying the author's words and to use one's own is also considered.
