Strengthens biology students’ reading, writing, and critical thinking skills to ensure their success at the University and to prepare them for graduate study in medicine, dentistry, optometry, or public health. Students will analyze and evaluate readings from the Humanities, Social Sciences, Arts and Natural Sciences and practice writing essays on topics in these fields. In addition, students can develop and strengthen their vocabulary and oral communication skills through small group work and individual assignments. Bio Sci 92 schedule is available here. ICS 93 - Stragtegies for Success in ICS Assists ICS students in developing their academic abilities and study skills in preparation of the rigorous demands of their major. Through a combination of lecture, discussion, and interactive exercises, students will explore, implement, and acquire a variety of practical study strategies for topics such as time management, notetaking, memory and concentration, overcoming procrastination, goal setting, textbook reading, and other exam preparation techniques. Uni Stu 175 - Methods in Small Group Instruction Explores various theories and methods of learning and development, and evaluates its practical application in small group settings.
