Dr. Christine Moseley received a B.S.
in Biology, her M.S. in Parasitology, and her Ph.D. in Comparative
Physiology from UCI. Her work in higher education spans over 20 years
from faculty member to administrator. Dr. Moseley is the director of
the Learning and Academic Resource Center.

Olivia Chan holds a BA in Political
Science from UCLA and a California Teaching Credential and a MA in
Education from Stanford University. She leads the Study Strategies
workshops for LARC. Before joining LARC as an Education Specialist, she
has lead school reform programs for teachers and has taught at all
levels except elementary. In her free time on the Metrolink to downtown
LA, she loves listening to KKLA and making new friends because: "He is
no fool who gives what he cannot keep to gain what he cannot lose."

James Culhane, educated at the
University of Virginia, Claremont Graduate School, and UCI, has been a
Writing Specialist at the Learning and Academic Resource Center since
1980. He is also the Manager of the Division of Humanities, Social
Science and Social Ecology for LARC. James pursues a lifelong interest
in the music and culture of the American South.

Richard Nester, a native of Virginia,
has an M.F.A. in English from the University of Massachusetts. He is a
Writing Specialist for the Learning and Academic Resource Center. He is
a published poet, whose work has appeared in such national publications
as Ploughshares, Callaloo, and Tikkun. His latest passion is playing
the harmonica.

Philippe Relouzat holds a B.A. from
France , an M.S. from UCLA, and a Ph.D. in Mathematics from UCI. He
leads Mathematics adjuncts and is the Science and Technology division
Manager for the Learning and Academic Resource Center. Philippe has
taught in many undergraduate courses, including the Summer Bridge and
CAMP Programs at UCI. He has also taught at the El Toro USMCAS and at
Mt. St. Mary's College. Philippe is mentioned in one of Richard
Nester's poems. His motto is "It only works on the very last try."

Jan Schiefelbine received her B.A. in
History from UCLA and her M.S. in TESOL from California State
University, Fullerton. She has worked at all levels of ESL instruction
from orientation to college composition. She is fascinated by the
process of language acquisition and is the ESL Specialist at LARC. Jan
enjoys family activities, and traveling with her husband. A particular
interest of hers is the red rock country of Southern Utah which she
proudly claims as her "native land."

Susan Schober has two master's
degrees, one in Linguistics and one in Spanish, both from USC. She is a
Writing Specialist for the Learning and Academic Resource Center. Susan
has been at UCI for over 15 years, and she loves reading Latin American
novels.

Robert S. De France, a native of
California, has over ten years of experience working in a variety of
writing centers. He holds a B.A. in English and an M.A. in Rhetoric,
Composition, and Writing. Currently, he teaches college English
part-time while working as a Writing Specialist. Fulfilling a life-long
goal, Robert has been published in the Magazine Rack, the
Rebuttal, Hackwriters, 95Notes Literary Magazine, the Word, the Truth,
Dance to Death, and the Shwibly. |

Alex Aw is currently a Biology
student at UCI. He is set to graduate Spring 2010. He is the Organic
Chemistry (Chem 51) Tutor Advisor. Alex has been a part of LARC since
Fall 2007 tutoring in General and Organic Chemistry. Alex likes
watching TV shows (a lot), reading wikipedia, and exploring the world.
He has studied abroad in Chile and has traveled to Argentina, Columbia,
the Panama Canal, Singapore and Myanmar (Burma). He currently
volunteers as a Clinical Care Extender at Hoag Memorial Hospital
Presbyterian and is on Leadership Team. He is in the process of
applying to medical schools as he is pursuing a future in healthcare.

Heather Christensen is a fifth-year
Math major with a specialization in Education at UCI. She will be
graduating in June of 2010 and from there hopes to move on to a
credentialing program so that she can teach math. Heather has been a
LARC tutor since fall of 2006, and this year she is the LARC Tutor
Advisor for Math 2B and 2J. She has been riding and showing horses
since sixth grade and is sad that her horse Crickett doesn't fit on the
patio of her Irvine apartment. You can visit Heather at her office in
Rowland Hall 220C.

Van Nguyen received her B.S. in
Biology and is currently the Biology Tutor Advisor. She likes to gobble
sushi, explore the world, bake, and go hahaha. She is especially
interested in obstetrics and perinatology. She hopes to research and
volunteer in Vietnam Fall 2009. She would eventually like to pursue a
career in medicine, research and teach.

Hung Pham graduated with a B.S. in
Chemistry and Mathematics. Hung oversees General Chemistry, Physics,
Engineering and Differential Equations (Math 3D). He likes to sit in
front of his computer, explore the vast internet, hang out with
friends, and do pretty much anything exciting and thrilling. He is
getting ready for graduate school in Chemistry, hopefully eventually
achieving his Ph.D. in order to become a professor.

Alvi Ulat received her B.A. in
Psychology & Social Behavior. She is the Tutor Advisor for
Humanities, I&CS/Informatics, Math 4, Social Ecology, and
Social Science. Alvi likes to paint, watch animal documentaries, go on
random adventures, and drink coffee. She is currently in the
application process to teach English in Eastern Europe for the Peace
Corps.
